My last few blog posts, not including the quote of the week, have been a little more on the ‘downer’ side of things. That being said, I want to lighten the mood a bit. It’s time for a get to know the blogger post! When you start getting to know someone, you go through their list of favorite things. Favorite color, movie, song, smell, etc. It gives you an insight into who they are.
Welcome to 10 Favorites by Kate.
Favorite Color: My favorite color is purple. I have absolutely NO idea why. I was sitting here for a second trying to come up with a reason but nope. I just love purple.
Favorite Movie: Smokey and the Bandit. I’ve been obsessed with that movie for a long, long time. My father introduced me to it when I was a kid. Burt Reynolds, Sally Fields, and Jerry Reed are my hero trio! And, of course, Jackie Gleason was the BEST “villain” ever. My close second favorite movie is Boondock Saints. Two (
hot) vigilante brothers who just happen to be good at what they do? Add in the beautiful Irish accent and I was sold. SOLD.
Favorite Song: Right now, my favorite song is “Drunk Me” by Mitchell Tenpenny. It’s constantly on repeat and it’s also my alarm in the mornings. It’s one of those songs that I can sing in my car at the top of my lungs. A close second would have to be “Beautiful Crazy” by Luke Combs. It’s another song I could listen to on repeat and never get tired of it.
Favorite Smell: I have a candle that my husband bought me from Ross. It’s Tobacco Leaves and Leather. Let me tell you this, I love it. It’s a comforting smell. I think that it’s because the candle smells like him. (Aka, my candle smells manly and I love it.)
Favorite Food: Considering that I’m currently pregnant, I’ll start with my favorite CRAVING. Nachos. Yes, nachos. But not just any nachos. They must be from Applebee’s. I literally go crazy over them. So good. Aside from nachos, my favorite foods are spaghetti and mozzarella sticks. I like my spaghetti to have garlic, onions, and peppers in it though. I blame my husband and his grandmother for that. The first time she made me spaghetti, I’m pretty sure I got more garlic and peppers than noodles. (Ha!)
Favorite Place: Aside from home, which is the greatest place to be, my favorite place is Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania. Jim Thorpe is a fun little town in Eastern Pennsylvania. My favorite part about it is Mauch Chunk Lake; a tourist attraction as well as a local hot spot. You can swim, fish, barbeque, boat, hike, and camp. Basically, some of my favorite things all wrapped into one spot. I’ve been going there a minimum of once a year since I was a toddler. Well, that is until I moved to Oregon last year. I’d love to plan a visit to Pennsylvania to see my family and to take my kids to the lake in Jim Thorpe.
Favorite Animal: I am obsessed with the Red Panda. They’re like little red raccoons. I can’t help but love their little faces. Whenever a picture or a video of one pops up on my Facebook feed, I squeal. Walmart had a giant stuffed one for $20. Guess who now owns a red panda stuffed animal. Yep, me!
Favorite Book: Anything written by Lucy Score. (Especially her Bootleg Springs series.) As for a book I could read over and over again, I would choose Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. That book was heartbreakingly beautiful, and I loved every page. I even loved the rest of the trilogy, but nothing will beat the story of book one. Granted, I wish the ending would have been different (what can I say, I’m a hopeless romantic!) but it was a book that made me laugh and it definitely made me cry. The movie was just as good (in case you were wondering.)
Favorite Drink: Monster Import. It’s smooth. (Which, by the way, is a weird way to explain a TASTE.) Of the non-energy variety, I love Mountain Dew and Root Beer. Of the alcoholic variety, Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey and Mudslides are my favorites. However, I don’t really drink. Maybe once in a very blue moon. (Or not at all, currently.)
Favorite Television Show: Criminal Minds. I have watched every episode. I’m forever saddened by the idea that season 15 will be the final season. I’m not ready for it to be over. I still have many unanswered questions that (most likely) won’t be answered in the final 10 episodes. The show is intense – I’ve gotten so attached to all the characters. I’ve cried (a lot), I’ve laughed, I’ve been scared, I’ve been overjoyed. I’ve experienced a whole rainbow of emotions with this show. I hope to see happy endings for all my babies. If someone dies, I will riot. For real. No more loss. No more.
And there you have it! 10 favorites of mine. I’ll probably do another “Get To Know Me” type post at some point in the near future. Have any questions about me you want to be answered? Leave them in the comment section below!
Until next time.
